BetterReviews is a product of APL Solution Inc. ("APL Solution Inc.", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, web application, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

Information We Collect
- Account information — when a business signs up: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and business details you provide (business name, logo, brand colour, review-page settings).
- Review and feedback data — when a customer of a business uses a BetterReviews review page: the star rating, selected options (e.g. service received, highlights), any written feedback, and any review text generated or edited in the flow. Customers are not required to create an account or provide their name or email; any contact details a customer chooses to include in feedback are visible to the business they reviewed.
- Coupon data — coupon codes we issue on a business's behalf and their status (issued, redeemed, expired).
- Payment information — paid subscriptions are processed by our merchant of record, Paddle. We do not store your full card details; Paddle collects and processes payment data under its own privacy policy (https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy).
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and similar log data; cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to understand product usage.
How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Service (hosting review pages, generating review drafts, routing feedback, issuing coupons, showing your dashboard)
- To send service emails (e.g. notifying a business of new private feedback, account and billing notices)
- To improve the Service, fix problems, and keep it secure
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell personal information. We do not use customer feedback for advertising.
Roles: Business Data vs Customer Data
For business account data, APL Solution Inc. acts as the data controller. For feedback submitted by a business's customers through that business's review page, we process it on behalf of the business, which is responsible for how it uses that feedback. Customers seeking access to or deletion of feedback they submitted should contact the business directly or email us at support@aplsol.com and we will assist.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service — hosting and database infrastructure, transactional email delivery, and Paddle for payments — each bound to use it only to provide their service to us; with a business, for feedback its customers submitted; and where required by law. If APL Solution Inc. is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred as part of that transaction with notice to you.
Data Retention
Account and review data are kept while the account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or security reasons. Businesses can delete individual feedback entries from their dashboard.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@aplsol.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 where it applies.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies in your browser settings; the Service may not function fully without essential cookies.
Children
The Service is for businesses and their adult customers. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
International Transfers
Our service providers may store or process data in countries other than yours. Where they do, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date; material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice.
